The Joe Wheeler Wildlife Refuge has numerous gravel roads that are open to horses. The roads meander through the refuge and allow riders to view the area’s wildlife. Riders can also find great trails through the nearby Bankhead National Forest. Truck and horse trailer parking is provided at Owl Creek Horse Camp in the Bankhead National Forest.
