Job Description: 

Decatur Morgan County Tourism is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Communications Intern. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of destination marketing and communications. As a Communications Intern, you will support our efforts to promote Decatur and Morgan County as a premier travel destination through various communication channels. 

Responsibilities: 

• Content Creation: Assist in creating engaging and compelling content for digital platforms, including social media posts and blog articles. 
• Photography and Videography: Capture high-quality photos and videos of local attractions, events, and activities to be used in promotional materials and on social media. 
• Research and Analytics: Help to conduct market research, monitor industry trends, and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies. 
• Event Support: Assist in planning and executing tourism-related events, including trade shows, familiarization tours, and community outreach initiatives. 
• Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support, including data entry, file organization, and coordination of meetings and appointments. 

Requirements: 

• Currently pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field (preferred). 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. 
• Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and basic graphic design tools. 
• Familiarity with photography and videography techniques and equipment. 
• Basic knowledge of SEO and web analytics. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. 
• Enthusiasm for travel and tourism.
