The Amen Trail offers a unique self-guided experience through some of Decatur’s most historic churches!

This driving and walking tour features 14 churches, many of which have been serving the community for more than 100 years.

The Amen Trail is perfect for visitors who enjoy exploring beyond the typical tourist attractions. Whether you’re interested in photography, local history, architecture, or simply taking a peaceful scenic drive, this trail offers a meaningful way to connect with the heart of the community.

Flint Creek Canoe Trail

A recent addition to the trail offerings, the Flint Creek Canoe Trail allows access to the heart of the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, making it an excellent opportunity for birdwatching.

The route begins at the Flint Creek Casual Ramp and ends at Osprey Point, covering approximately 1.5 miles of easy paddling. Along the way, keep an eye out for turtles, fish, deer, and a variety of birds that call the refuge home.

MoCo Art Trail

The MoCo Art Trail is an experience that celebrates the arts found throughout Decatur & Morgan County!

The trail features a variety of unique destinations, including the Alabama Center for the Arts, Middle House Gallery, The Studio on Bank by Tracy Roberts, Old State Bank, and the Shops on 2nd Avenue. From inspiring galleries and artist studios to museums and locally owned shops, this trail showcases the incredible talent that makes our community a vibrant destination for the arts.

Once an ordinary alley, this transformed public space is now filled with colorful murals, whimsical art, and inviting gathering spaces that celebrate the creativity and spirit of Decatur. This lively mural, created by Britt Flood and supported by the Alabama Center for the Arts & Downtown Decatur Redevelopment Authority, pays tribute to local wildlife, wildflowers, and the beloved Alabama Jubilee hot air balloons. It transforms an alley off Johnston Street SE into a vibrant urban masterpiece.
