New Event Rolls Into Decatur on a Mission to Give Back

Emma Martin • August 8, 2025

Decatur is about to trade its quiet hum for the roar of engines as the Driven To Give Auto & Bike Show takes over the brand-new Morgan County/Decatur Farmers Market on Saturday, September 27, from 3:00–7:00 PM. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Decatur Daybreak in partnership with The Decatur-Morgan County Farmers Market and presented by Lynn Layton Chevrolet, this high-octane gathering isn’t just for car and bike lovers — it’s for anyone who enjoys live music, good food, and giving back to the community.

From classic cruisers and muscle machines to jaw-dropping custom builds and sleek imports, the show will feature an impressive lineup of cars and motorcycles sure to make any enthusiast’s heart race. But there’s more than shiny paint jobs and chrome to look forward to:

  • Tire Changing Competition – Sponsored by Robert’s Auto Sales. How fast can you go from zero to “ready to roll”?
  • Live Music – Rock out with local favorite Tres Locos as they keep the energy high all afternoon.
  • Local Vendors & Food – Grab a bite, shop local, and soak up the lively market atmosphere.
  • Special Guests –Sprocket, the beloved Rocket City Trash Pandas mascot, will be joining the fun — and he’s bringing plenty of other kid-friendly characters families are sure to love.
  • On-Site Food Drive – Support the Committee On Church Cooperation's Food Pantry and other local causes by bringing canned goods or nonperishables.

While the event will satisfy your need for speed, it’s also about fueling something bigger: helping neighbors in need at the CCC.

“All proceeds go toward nonprofits that uplift and serve our community,” says Rotary Club President Baretta Taylor. “Come for the cars, stay for the cause. This show is about driving real change, one gear at a time.”

Decatur, Alabama, is gearing up for a vibrant and meaningful Juneteenth celebration this year, honoring the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and recognizing the enduring struggle for equality. This important holiday, Juneteenth, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas on June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the end of slavery. This was nearly two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Black Texans began celebrating the day in 1866, and it has evolved into a widely observed holiday. The Juneteenth holiday is a day for reflection, education, and community celebration. Want to celebrate Juneteenth? Morgan County has a weekend packed with events that celebrate Black history, culture, and achievement! Check out these events...
