From pickleball tournaments to firework spectaculars, here’s how we are celebrating America’s 250th birthday in Decatur & Morgan County!

Spirit of America-8:00 AM-9:00 PM

This year marks 60 years of fireworks, entertainment, and fun brought to the city of Decatur through the Spirit of America festival. Come celebrate 60 years of Spirit of America Festival & 250 Years of America at Point Mallard. Check out the schedule below so you don’t miss any of the perfectly patriotic events going on!


·      SOA King & Queen of the Court (Pickleball)- 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM

·      Stars & Sticks 2-man Golf Classic-8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

·      Kids Bike Parade-9:00 AM – 9:30 AM (Registration begins at 8:30 AM)

·      Car & Motorcycle Show-9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

·      Spirit of America Field Opens with Food Trucks & Vendors-4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

·      Kids Zone-4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

·      Live Music: Bob & The Fog-5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

·      Live Music: Lamont Landers-7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

·      Fireworks Spectacular-9:00 PM

Falkville Star Spangled Day June 27th

Head down to Falkville for Star Spangled Day on June 28th, 2025, at 7 PM at Southpark, 1082 Culver Road, Falkville, AL. The event is free of admission and has plenty of fun events such as:

·      Recognizing Veterans

·      Fireworks

·      Live music

·      Bounce house 

·      Adventure area

·      Food trucks

·      Door prizes

·      Best Dressed Patriotic Competition for all ages, with prizes for the two winners!

Freedom 250 America Strong at Hartselle Civic Center-9:00AM-2:00PM

Celebrate 250 years of the USA in Hartselle with a free entry event full of fun for kids & families!


The celebration will begin inside with the Sons of the American Revolution color guard, pledge, and singing of our national anthem, followed by the reading of the Declaration of Independence.


 The kid fun kicks off with a Kid's bike parade at 10:30 and continues with bouncy houses, cornhole, sack races, 3-legged races, eating contests, kid activity stations (Patriotic Passport Trail), and more! Once your patriotic passport is completed, show your passport for the opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence!


Surrounding the kid's freedom zone will be:

  • A Car Show
  • Food Trucks
  • Eating Contests
  • Live Music
  • Vendors
  • Musket firing every 30 minutes


Morgan County Commission Celebrates America 250-July 2nd 5:00 PM-7:00 PM

The Morgan County Commission is planning hosting a celebration on Thursday, July 2nd from 5:00PM-7:00PM on the Morgan County Courthouse lawn. They are going to celebrate 250 years of the United States with a variety of activities including:


·      Offering free hot dogs, chips, and drinks

·      Trivia contest about the United States flag

·      Sidewalk Chalk

·      Food Trucks

·      Live Music

·      Patriotic Pets Contest-dress your pets up in their most patriotic gear for the chance to win a prize!
